Analysts at Canalys say that while the problems with component supplies such as chips have abated, the issue of falling demand still persists.
In the highly dynamic market of mobile devices, the best-selling smartphones in Croatia in the year behind us were those from the house of Samsung. The South Korean brand is a convincing leader in the domestic market, followed by Xiaomi, which achieved great results in 2021, but failed to overtake Samsung.
Xiaomi, the company whose mobile phones are growing in popularity in Croatia, presented a new series of Redmi Note 11 smartphones and a whole range of new devices from its portfolio. The smartphone series includes four brand-new devices: Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro, Redmi Note 11S, and Redmi Note 11, which will be sold at very reasonable prices.
Global smartphone sales fell by six percent in the third quarter in relation to the same period last year, but rose at the same rate compared to the second quarter. A total of 342 million smartphones were shipped worldwide in the three months from July to the end of September.
Xiaomi will release the new Xiaomi 12 phone in China on December 28, TechRadar reports. It has not yet been confirmed how many models the new series from the Chinese manufacturer will have, but the company is expected to launch Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, and Xiaomi 12 Pro immediately, while Xiaomi 12 Ultra and Xiaomi 12 mini will arrive on the market in just a few months.
Samsung retained the top spot in global smartphone shipments in the third quarter of 2021, but things could heat up as we enter the final quarter of the year, when most smartphones will be sold. Samsung currently holds 30 percent of the European market share.
The shipment volume of 5G smartphones in China jumped by 80 percent in the first eight months of the year, as the Chinese ordered 168 million 5G mobile phones by the end of August.
The White House confirmed that US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan had urged Brazil not to use Huawei Technologies equipment in developing its 5G telecommunications net-work.
In just three months, from April to the end of June, 50.1 million smartphones were sold in Europe, so total sales increased by a whopping 14 percent compared to the same period in 2020.
Samsung is still the leader in the smartphone market, however, for the first time in history, Chinese Xiaomi took second place in terms of sales, pulling ahead of Apple – according to reports from the analyst firm Canalys.
